The Machine Shop located in the School of Engineering provides researchers with the opportunity to custom build components for their research projects. This resource allows for research projects that would not otherwise be possible.

Undergraduate students have the opportunity to take a course in machining. The course is completely in the machine shop and the students have hands on experience using the machines. The students complete a project where they design a device and then machine the components and compete with other groups for the best product. Other students use the machine shop for club projects. This approach to student use is unique to the School of Engineering’s approach to education.
