All students must complete a standard set of courses to be considered for a role as a teaching assistant (TA). These courses include:
- Chemical Safety Course
- Preventing and addressing Bullying and Harassment
- Workplace Violence Prevention
- New Worker Safety Orientation
- Preventing COVID-19 infection in the Workplace (UBCO)
Depending on the assignment, further requirements may be required.
The Technical Support Group will also provide a mandatory orientation session and TA training sessions for the assigned labs. Upon completion of the orientation, the TA will sign off acknowledging their roles and responsibilities. The TA will provide the undergraduate student training presentation to all students in the lab.
